•    FDA issued Warning to Mumbai-based Sun Pharma  
The US FDA inspectors have detected GMP-related violations in the New Jersey plant of the Indian generic maker Sun Pharmaceutical. The official statement from the company has pledged to respond to the FDA within 15 days and would work "cooperatively and expeditiously" to resolve the problems highlighted by the FDA.

 

 

•    Ranbaxy Invested in OTC Medicine Factory in South Africa
India-based Ranbaxy has opened a new plant to produce OTC drugs in South Africa. Named Be-Tabs Pharmaceuticals, this plant is based in Johannesburg & was built with an investment of USD30m, & is designed to produce products like analgesics, cold, cough & flu preparations, anti-histamines, anti-hypertensives etc with annual capacity of about 1.75billion units and 2billion units finished packs.
