This year, PSS will be celebrating Pharmacy Week differently. We will not be hosting the "big bang" event like we had in the past; instead, we will all celebrate in our own setting while maintaining a common identity.

To this end, one of the initiatives is to have a common identity and the organizing committee has proposed to get every pharmacist nation-wide, (including students, lecturers, frontline pharmacists, administrators, industry pharmacists etc etc - anyone who considers themselves pharmacists), to wear a badge. A badge design competition was held which drew participations from some 13 entries. The winning badge design was conceptualized and contributed by Mr. Tan Bing Xun – a Year 4 NUS Pharmacy Student. Brief write-up regarding Bing Xun's inspiration behind the designs: A pharmacy requires the dedication of a team of professionals (Pharmacists, Technicians and staff) who are committed towards maintaining the good public healthcare standards. In this design, the human silhouettes form the word "Pharmacy" which aptly represents a tribute to the people in pharmacy. The "Pharmacy Rocks" theme is also portrayed via the rockstar lighting backdrop effect which brings the spotlight on these healthcare stars.

For the winning design, Bing Xun was presented with a token of appreciation which he received recently PSS President – MK Fatimah. Congratulations Xing Xun!
