Mr Roman Lester Rosales represented PSS at the Bali Pharmacy Festival 2022 held on 23rd September. He was one of the foreign speakers invited to speak at the seminar portion of the event held at The Stones Hotel in Bali, Indonesia. Bali Pharmacy Festival is an event organized by the Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia (IAI) Pengurus Daerah Bali, which is a regional chapter of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association. This year, the theme was ‘Smart Pharmacist and Leadership in Digitalisation’. The seminar was attended by more than 300 participants.

During the seminar, Mr Rosales spoke about ‘Digitalisation & Leadership in the Community Pharmacy: A Singapore Perspective’, sharing on the various digitalization efforts in community pharmacy practice in Singapore and how pharmacy leadership plays a vital role in initiating, managing and sustaining such efforts. The session was shared with another speaker from the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), Mr Redwan Hossain, who joined virtually from Bangladesh, and was attended by around 60 participants. The attendees, who were mostly hospital and community pharmacists based in Bali, were especially keen on the digitalisation efforts in integrating patient medical records (e.g. NEHR), access to own health records via HealthHub, Telepharmacy, Teleconsultation and Telemedicine. During the Q&A, some of them also shared on the challenges faced in the roll out and adoption of similar efforts in Bali, especially among the elderly and those who are not connected digitally.
