Do you know that patients with low health literacy often have poorer medication adherence, utilise more healthcare resources and are at an increased risk of hospitalisation and mortality?

As pharmacists, we have an important role to play in promoting health literacy.  One way to achieve this is to make sure information provided to our patients is easily readable and understandable by the public. At the National Medication Information Workgroup, we strive to do just that!   Our workgroup  places emphasis on improving health literacy, and all our leaflets are vetted by the PSS Public Education Chapter before the information gets published on HealthHub!

How can you practise health literacy in Pharmacy? Look no further! Use these five simple tips and be on your way to becoming a health literacy hero!
