Singapore Association of Pharmaceutical Industries, SAPI represents the interest of 42 member companies of which 36 members are international companies engaged in the research and development of innovative biopharmaceutical medicines.

Dear Members, we are pleased to share the latest SAPI Code of Conduct 2018 for your reference.

The key revisions are:

1. Article 7.2                   Sponsorship of healthcare professionals to ‘third party educational’ events and
2. Article 7.5.3                Items of Medical Utility

The implementation timeline for section 7.5.3 of the Code on ‘Items of Medical Utility’ is 30^th January 2018 while for section 7.2 of the Code on Sponsorship, the implementation timeline will be on the 1^st January 2019, thereby giving our members a ‘Sunshine’ period of 12 months to adapt to the revised code.

We have also included a table of comparison between the previous code (2016) and the new code (2018) on the changes for your reference.

The spirit of the SAPI Code of Conduct to uphold the high standard of ethical conduct remains the same and our members will also continue to be guided by their respective Company's internal codes in addition to the SAPI Code of Conduct.
