With a growing number of people traveling overseas, it has become apparent that travelers need to be aware of the potential health risks they may be exposed to. This may be complicated by individual health concerns as well as the fact that different travel destinations have different, ever changing health risks. Community pharmacists are well placed to advise potential travelers on the ways they can reduce these heath risks. This guide aims to provide community pharmacists with information covering malaria prophylaxis, mountain sickness, motion sickness and travelers’ diarrhea to better aid them in their practice.
