AWARDS AND HONOURS
PSS offers our heartiest congratulations to our PSS Fellow, Mr Koe Khoon Poh for winning the prestigious NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award and the distinguished Alumni Gold Medal Award. Mr Koe's numerous achievements and continuous support for PSS has really inspired us and made us proud of our profession.
About the NUS Distinguished Alumni Service Award
The biennial Awards serve to honour alumni who have distinguished themselves in various fields locally and internationally, and are recognized for their individual contributions to the University and the larger community. To be awarded the Distinguished Alumni Service Awards, the nominee must have distinguished themselves in rendering excellent and sustained volunteer service to NUS, its predecessor institutions and/or alumni community. Mr Koe received his award at the NUS Alumni Awards 2013 held on 8 November at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House.
About the Alumni Gold Medal Award
In 1982, Dr S Lourdenadin donated the first 10 gold medals to the Alumni Council for them to select a member who in their opinion has contributed outstandingly in promoting the spirit of camaraderie amongst its members.
The Alumni Council accepted his generous donation and nominated Dato Dr Ezanee Merican as the first recipient at the annual reunion held in Cameron Highlands.
At the 90th Anniversary (1923 – 2013) Alumni Association Reunion Dinner held on 15 November 2013 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Mr Koe Khoon Poh was awarded the prestigious Alumni Gold Medal.
