Dear Members,

It’ll be 12 months soon since the 100th PSS Council was voted in to run the Society.

It has been an exciting year and I would like to thank all the Council Members, all the hardworking committees and members who have volunteered to help make PSS stronger and more purposeful for the cause of pharmacists and pharmacy profession. Their devotion and tireless contribution despite the busy full time job demanded more than just dedication and sacrifice, it called for loads of passion plus stamina to fuel engine that moves the pharmacy profession in Singapore.

The efforts were not measured by minutes or hours, but more aptly by drops of sweat and passionate devotion striving to keep pace with often harsh reality of modern world. The end results were often not visible as things often inch forward initially; but we know every moving inch, amidst frustrations and impatience, brings us a step closer to a well-oiled engine, moving in high revs in optimal efficiency. This is a process and a process needs a good control and disciplined command. This is where the principal task of the Council lies; not very glamorous at this stage, but it is an honourable and pleasant journey to be in.

As we now head into the AGM to close the 100th Council and elect the 101th Council, may I urge all members who are concerned and passionate about affairs of PSS and pharmacy profession to come and join us during the coming AGM scheduled for Mar 23, 2007 from 6:30pm at Arthur Lim Auditorium, Alumni Medical Centre. Be part of the active process and component of our professional cause. Collectively, every inch of efforts and ideas advance our destiny closer to where your desire will take you!

Thanks and see you all there.

Ng Cheng Tiang
President, PSS
