Counting down to the 24th Singapore Pharmacy Congress!

This 24th Singapore Pharmacy Congress has established a couple of milestones. FIrstly, colleagues from other healthcare professions will be joining us as we work collaboratively to achieve safe and quality patient care. Secondly, PSS is very privileged to be able to hold this event in conjunction with the International Medication Safety Network, a renowned international network for promoting medication safety practices

Opening Ceremony - 18 Oct 2014, 10:00- 11:00

Minister for Health, Mr Gan Kim Yong, will be gracing this occasion as the Guest-of-Honour.

We also have an exciting opening programme lined up! PSS will also be presenting the PSS awards to honour our pharmacists who excel in their field of practice. 

An award of the highest honour will be presented to our late PSS fellow and Past President:

In honour of the late Mr Koe Khoon Poh (1943-2014)

For the first time in the history of PSS, the PSS Lifetime Achivement Award will be presented posthumously to honour a visionary leader, historian, mentor and father, Mr Koe Khoon Poh. The PSS Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a pharmacist who has shown unstinting effort and relentless drive in uplifting the image and standing of the pharmacy profession, commitment, passion and dedication to the pharmacy calling and contributions to society. Minister Gan will be presenting this award of the highest standing to Mr Koe's family.

 

Pharmacy Week 2014 will also be launched at the opening ceremony! Do you know the 4 messages we are sending this year? Join us as we extend our reach to the public to empower them with knowledge on safe and effective use of medicines!

Know of anyone interested in having their medicines reviewed? Refer them to particpating pharmacies!

 

  

Scientific Programme

The Scientific Committee of the 24th Singapore Pharmacy Congress has worked tirelessly to come up with a comprehensive programme for all.

The keynote lecture "ISMP Targeted Medication Safety Best Practices in the United States" will be delivered by Dr Michael Cohen, the President of The Institute of Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) and Chairperson of the International Medication Safety Network (IMSN).

The Committee has also organized 9 pre-congress workshops and 3 plenary sessiosn with lectures by well respected speakers in the field of medication safety. In addition, a 3-track symposium promises an all-rounded programme for the hospital, community and industry pharmacist.

Medication Safety Workgroup
