We are pleased to present the September issue of the HSA Adverse Drug Reaction News (Sep2016 Vol.18 No.2). The aim of the news bulletin is to increase the awareness of adverse events related to health products among healthcare professionals, and to promote adverse event reporting to the Vigilance and Compliance Branch of HSA.

In this issue, we bring you a ‘Special Feature’ on drug-induced liver adverse events to remind healthcare professionals to be vigilant and report DILI when suspected. Included in this section is a case study on DILI suspected with the use of a complementary health product, and two articles featuring the risk of reactivation of hepatitis B virus with the use of immunosuppressive agents.

The editorial team is also pleased to bring you the revamped Medical Device Alert circular (Sep2016 Vol.5 No.1) which highlights issues associated with the use of transvaginal surgical meshes.

The news bulletin is posted on the MOH Health Professional Portal and HSA’s website.
