Talk for Physiotherapists: Basic Pharmacology in Pain Management

On 4th Mar 2016, PSS Community Chapter and Core Concepts Physiotherapists P/L co-organised a continuing education talk for a group of fifteen enthusiastic physiotherapists. The topic was on “Basic Pharmacology in Pain Management”. Ms Ong Yean Xin from Guardian was the speaker, as well as the representative from the PSS Community Chapter.

It was an excellent platform for cross-learning, communication and building better relationships with allied healthcare professionals. With the better understanding of which medications pharmacists can dispense as P meds and OTC, physiotherapists can refer patients to our friendly community pharmacists. Also, when patients have drug related enquiries, such as interactions, potential side effects, the pharmacists would be able to assist them.

Participants found the session really helpful and they look forward to have similar talks from pharmacists in future. Well done!
