It is my great pleasure to write in this issue of the PSS e-Bulletin on behalf of the NUS Pharmaceutical Society (NUSPS). I am deeply honoured and privileged to serve and represent NUSPS as President of the 46th Executive Committee for the academic year 2006-2007.

The NUSPS Exco consisits of 12 committee members, each playing a different role in serving the society as well as the student body. We have planned for our peers an exciting and engaging year ahead, one full of activities and learning opportunities.

The Finance Committee will be organizing a series of fund-raising events such as the annual bazaar and the tri-faculty bash (co-organized with the Medicine and Dentistry faculties).

Annual Bazaar

The annual public health campaign, JC outreach program and Xperience Pharmacy Camp for JC students will be planned by the Pharmacy Profession Awareness Campaign (PPAC) Committee. There will also be a series of talks, enrichment trips and workshops, the Patient Counselling Event as well as the annual inter-year sports carnival organized by the Social and Education Committee.

Annual Sports Carnival

The International Relations Committee will be involved in the IPSF Student Exchange Program, hosting foreign Pharmacy students as well as arranging for some of our students to have their attachments overseas. In addition, the Media Resource Team will be publishing our newsletter, the Elixir as well as the Pharmaceutica magazine. Emed, the voluntary wing of NUSPS, will be organizing a series of healthcare related volunteer work for our students. Last of all, the society room has finally been opened! It is fully furnished and air-conditioned, with various welfare services provided by our Welfare Committee.
