Professor Lucy Wan Outstanding Pharmacist Award is the highest award PSS give to Singapore pharmacists who have excelled in their area of pharmacy practice.Award Recipients:1999 - Chui Wai KeungDr Chui Wai Keung is a native of Singapore and was educated at the National University of Singapore
Wai-Keung CHUI is a native of Singapore and was educated at the National University of Singapore (B.Sc. Pharm.) and at Aston University in Birmingham (PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, 1990). His work has taken him to a post -doctoral fellowship at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and he is currently an Assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy at his alma mater, the National University of Singapore. Wai-Keung CHUI has been a Member of the World Health Organization’s Expert Advisory Panel for International Non-proprietary Name for Pharmaceutical Substances (since 1998). His professional memberships include being registered with the Singapore Pharmacy Board, a Graduate Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the current President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore. His research interests are in the areas of Computer-aided Design, Synthesis and Evaluation of Potential Therapeutic Agents as well as method development for the analysis of pharmaceuticals and Chinese Proprietary Medicine and the investigation of optically active drug substances. He has served as Editor for the Singapore Pharmaceutical Bulletin since 1995 and he has been active in Singapore Pharmacy Congresses. Wai-keung CHUI was the 1999 recipient of the Professor Lucy Wan Outstanding Pharmacist Award for having made excellent contributions to the Pharmacy profession in Singapore and the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore 2000 - Png Yong Koh2004 - Wee Chew Eng2005 - Chan Soo Chung
