PSS Annual General Meeting Held on 23-Mar-07

The Annual General Meeting of PSS was held at the Arthur Lim Auditorium of the Alumni Medical Centre. We bring you some of the snapshots from the evening's event which started with a light dinner from 6:30pm and adjourned by about 9:00pm.

PSS Signed MOU with NTUC LearningHub

Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) & NTUC LearningHub (LHUB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 27-Mar-07 to formalize their intention in establishing a Pharmaceutical Training Centre (PTC).

Pre-registration Pharmacists - Completion Ceremony

Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore celebrates the completion of the Training Programme 2006/07 for our latest batch of Pre-registration Pharmacists. To mark the end of the training, a Closing Ceremony was held in their honour on 24-Mar- 2007.

Drug Safety Alert from USFDA
Zelnorm (tegaserod maleate) - Product withdrawn from the market. Study results showed patients on Zelnorm (marketed as ZelmacTM in SIngapore by Novartis) had higher risk of serious cardiovascular adverse events. (Posted 30/3/2007) Permax (pergolide) and generic equivalents - Products withdrawn from the market. New studies showed that some patients with Parkinson's disease treated with pergolide (marketed as CelanceTM by PL Asia Pacific in Singapore) had serious damage to their heart valves.
