One of the most memorable aspects of becoming a pharmacist is the process of becoming one, ie. the not-so-sophisticated days in the university. That's exactly why reliving those days is so refreshing!
The pharmacy class of 1987/88 got together recently at the NUSS Graduates Club (Formerly NUS Guild House) at Kent Ridge. There were 34 of us in the 87/88 cohort and we were one of the most cosmopolitan classes for as many years as I could recount. We had classmates coming from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Philippines and of course the home ground - Singapore. The Teochew porridge at the NUSS went down very well for all 15 of us who turned up in high spirits with a special guest, our very familiar and affable Prof. Lucy Wan. She has retired for many years but kept herself very connected with some of her many many students.
We talked about life, work, kids, spouse, cars, driving from Kuala Lumpur, tennis, current affairs, mobile phones & yes, perhaps something about drugs, maybe...! It's nice to see so many of us could still set aside time to get together despite our own many engagements and pursuits in life, at work and at home.
Thanks to all who turned up year after year for the gathering and I'm sure more gatherings have yet to come...! Ng Cheng Tiang Class Rep of '87 & Past-President, PSS
