Print E-mail

Nine months ago, we reported in Issue No. 36 of the eBulletin that a new batch of pharmacy graduates started their pre-registration attachment in great anticipation. On 26-Mar-09, 80 pre-regs officially completed this journey to join the workforce as full-fledge pharmacists.

The completion of the pre-registration training was celebrated with a ceremony held in the honour of these  80 new colleagues. The event was held at Arthur Lim’s Auditorium and was hosted by PSS. We also invited Mr Wu Tuck Seng, President of the Singapore Pharmacy Council – to sow some seeds of inspiration and share his insights with the young pharmacists about what’s being a pharmacist in today’s rapidly changing health system.

2.  AH/Tee Jos Ling’s project on: Calling the Bluff on Mislabelled Drug Allergies;

3.  SGH/Tang Si Lin, Sarah’s project on: Retrospective Analysis of Effectiveness of Veno-occlusive Disease Prophylaxis Guidelines Implemented for Patients Receiving Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation; and

4.  Guardian/Liu JinBi, Joyce’s project on: A Randomised, Single-blinded Controlled Trial of PIL-assisted Approach for the Management of Allergic Rhinitis in the Community Pharmacy.

Also present were the heads of different pharmacies and the Pre-reg Training Committee. On behalf of the PSS Council, we would like to express our gratitude to all preceptors and pharmacists who have helped made this happen. A special thanks to the hardworking Pre-reg Training Committee headed by Ms Tan Siok Hwee, Maggie for their ceaseless commitment and contribution.
